Academic Report

The Challenge

Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS) sought custom design and editing services for academic reports about women peacekeepers and their impact on operational effectiveness, to be launched in conjunction with International Peacekeepers Day. The GIWPS team had already written drafts of a main report and three case studies, but needed the text to be edited and designed in a visually appealing, easy-to-read format.

The Solution

WCM editors completed two rounds of edits—one substantive and one for proofreading—to ensure that the report and case studies were concise, had consistent style, and were comprehensible to nonexperts in the subject. WCM designed template themes that  provided a cohesive look and feel for the four publications. Pull quotes and compelling photo placements were used to break up the text-heavy feel. The final products were delivered as digital flipbook versions of each publication that were embedded into the GIWPS website.
